A Bold Rounded Glass Body On A Slim Metal Stem
The Charlton Table Lamp is built around a generously rounded hand blown glass body with flattened ends, set on a small plated metal disc. Leverint describes it as statement lighting on a grander scale than its other table lamps, and it earns that description: the body is 200mm across and the lamp stands 340mm high to the top of the lamp holder, before any shade is added. A slim metal stem runs up through the centre of the glass, so it reads well from every side on a console, a sideboard or a large bedside table. Each body is hand blown by Leverint. Please note that the fabric shade shown in the photos is not included, so you can pair the base with a shade of your own choosing.
Choose Your Glass and Metal Finish
Each lamp is made to order in your choice of hand blown glass and plated metal finish, chosen from the swatches above when you order. The photos show the base in ribbed, fine ribbed, clear and opaque white glass, as well as the ribbed twist and fine ribbed twist textures, which are available as an upgrade, all with polished brass metalwork. Leverint plates the metalwork in polished brass, brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel, so you can match it to the rest of your scheme. Because the glass is blown by hand and the metal is plated by hand, the colour and texture of your lamp may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. How It Works
The lamp takes one E27 bulb. It is not supplied with one as standard, but you can add Leverint's T45 LED filament bulb from the dropdown above, or choose no bulb and fit your own. Leverint lists a 40W maximum on its technical sheet and gives 8W LED on its product page, so a low wattage LED filament bulb is the right choice inside glass. It is supplied with 1.5 metres of round silk covered flex and an inline switch, so there is nothing to install: unpack it, add a bulb and a shade, and plug it in. The standard inline switch is on and off only. Leverint can supply a dimmable version on request, so please ask before ordering if you want one. If you ever want the lamp rewired or connected to anything other than the supplied switch, have that work carried out by a qualified electrician.
Where It Works Best
With a 200mm wide glass body and a height of 340mm to the top of the lamp holder, this is one of the larger glass bases in Leverint's table lamp range. Leverint suggests it for work, living and leisure spaces, and it has the presence for a sideboard, a wide console, a home office desk or a living room side table that can carry a bigger lamp. A single Charlton can anchor a surface on its own, and the ribbed and twisted glass options turn the bulb into a soft glow inside the glass as well as through the shade above.
Made By Leverint
Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where each piece of glass is shaped by hand rather than cast in a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons, and its founders bring decades of lighting design and glass artistry to every lamp. Leverint says the Charlton is hand blown with a series of timed movements, which is how the glass is coaxed into a full, even shape with the ribs or twist running cleanly around it.

No. The Leverint Charlton Table Lamp is sold as a base only, and the olive drum shade shown in the photos is not included. It has a standard E27 lamp holder, so a drum or empire shade of your own choice can be fitted to it.
