The Canary Small Pendant is a compact, diamond shaped glass shade with straight parallel ribs that run from the top to the point at the base. Leverint says the Canary showcases parallel lines and soothing light, and at 200mm wide and 200mm high this is the smaller of the two sizes, a neat shade that suits a small table or a short run of several in a row.

Choose Your Finish

Each pendant is made to order in your choice of hand blown glass and plated metal finish, chosen from the options above when you order. The photos show the Canary in clear ribbed glass with a silver toned metal fitting and grey fabric flex, and the photo is of the medium size, so the small shade is a more compact version of the same shape. Because the glass is blown by hand and the metal is plated by hand, the colour and texture of your pendant may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. How It Works

The pendant takes one E14 bulb, up to 40W, and is not supplied with one. Leverint lists it as dimmable using mains dimming, so it will work with a compatible dimmer switch and a dimmable bulb. It hangs on a standard 1 metre drop of fabric sleeved flex from a ceiling rose 65mm across and 37mm deep, and Leverint can supply a longer length if you enquire. As a hardwired ceiling fitting, we recommend that it is installed by a qualified electrician, ideally one who is NICEIC registered.

Where It Works Best

The small size is the one to choose where space is tight or where you want several shades together. Three in a row suit a kitchen worktop or a breakfast bar, a pair can hang either side of a bed, and a single shade lights a landing or a corner of a hallway without taking it over. Leverint describes the Canary as suited to contemporary and modern settings, and the clear ribbed glass throws fine lines of light as well as a warm glow.

Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where every shade is shaped by hand rather than cast from a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons. The crisp ribs and the point at the base of a Canary shade are part of that hand finished look.
