A Tall Glass Capsule On A Slim Metal Stem
The Bickley Table Lamp is a tall, slim hand blown glass body with rounded ends, like an elongated capsule, standing on a small plated metal disc with a slim metal stem running up through the centre. It is just 100mm across, but the lamp stands 415mm high to the top of the lamp holder before any shade is added, which makes it a tall lamp for its width and one to measure for before you order. Leverint describes it as tantalising glass curves with a contemporary edge, and the long unbroken sweep of glass is what gives it that look. Each body is hand blown by Leverint. Please note that the fabric shade shown in the photos is not included, so you can pair the base with a shade of your own choosing.
Choose Your Glass and Metal Finish
Each lamp is made to order in your choice of hand blown glass and plated metal finish, chosen from the swatches above when you order. The photos show the base in ribbed, clear, transparent black and opaque white glass, as well as the ribbed twist texture, which is available as an upgrade, all with polished brass metalwork. Leverint plates the metalwork in polished brass, brushed brass, weathered brass, bronze, polished nickel or satin nickel, so you can match it to the rest of your scheme. Because the glass is blown by hand and the metal is plated by hand, the colour and texture of your lamp may vary slightly from the photos, and screens show colour differently from one device to another. How It Works
The lamp takes one E27 bulb. It is not supplied with one as standard, but you can add Leverint's T45 LED filament bulb from the dropdown above, or choose no bulb and fit your own. Leverint lists a 40W maximum on its technical sheet and gives 8W LED on its product page, so a low wattage LED filament bulb is the right choice inside glass. It is supplied with 1.5 metres of round silk covered flex and an inline switch, so there is nothing to install: unpack it, add a bulb and a shade, and plug it in. The standard inline switch is on and off only. Leverint can supply a dimmable version on request, so please ask before ordering if you want one. If you ever want the lamp rewired or connected to anything other than the supplied switch, have that work carried out by a qualified electrician.
Where It Works Best
Leverint recommends the Bickley for hallway and dining console tables and for larger side tables, and its height suits those settings: a console against a wall, a sideboard or a table behind a sofa, where a lamp needs to rise above books, vases and picture frames. With a glass body only 100mm wide it takes up very little surface for its height, so it also works as a matching pair at either end of a long console, and the clear and ribbed glass options let the bulb show as a long line of light through the glass.
Made By Leverint
Leverint is a hand blown glass lighting studio based in Enfield, London, where each piece of glass is shaped by hand rather than cast in a mould. The studio says it draws on more than a century of glassblowing experience through its parent company, G Farley and Sons, and its founders bring decades of lighting design and glass artistry to every lamp. A long, narrow form like the Bickley is a good test of that skill, because the glass has to stay even in thickness along its whole length.

Does the Bickley Table Lamp come with a shade?
No. The Leverint Bickley Table Lamp is sold as a base only, and the taupe drum shade shown in the photos is not included. It has a standard E27 lamp holder, so a drum or empire shade of your own choice can be fitted to it.
