A Sculptural Bloom On A Slender Stand

The floor standing version of Snowdrop carries the same hand folded, bell shaped shade on a slender stand, so the pleated form becomes a freestanding sculptural piece rather than something hung overhead. It's designed by Harrit, Sørensen & Samson, the same trio behind the pendant, and pleated by hand in the same Odense workshop.

Standard foil or paper

Choose standard foil for a bright, even white that resists UV yellowing and wipes clean, or paper for a warmer, more tactile shade that will mellow into a soft golden patina over time.

How it works

Standing 155cm tall with a 30cm diameter shade, it takes an E27 fitting with a maximum recommended 20W LED (bulb not included), and runs from a flat, black, 250cm mains cable to a plug rather than a ceiling fixing, so there's no installation beyond finding a socket.

Its height and soft, diffused glow suit it to a reading corner, beside a sofa, or as a sculptural accent in a hallway or living room where you want ambient light without ceiling wiring.

Made By Le Klint

Le Klint was founded in 1943 by Tage Klint, formalising a hand pleating technique his father P.V. Jensen-Klint had developed decades earlier by folding a shade for a petroleum lamp in the style of Japanese origami. In 1942 Esben Klint designed the Model 107, the pendant that established the pleated silhouette Le Klint is still known for. Every Snowdrop shade, including this floor standing version, is folded by hand in the same Odense workshop, a skill that takes new folders around a year to learn and two to three years to master.
