Named for a Comet's Glow
Designed by Poul Christiansen in 2003, Comet takes Le Klint's cross pleating into a rounded, faceted form dense enough that it earned its nickname from its resemblance to a comet's compact, glowing head.
Stainless steel or brass
The pleated shade sits on fittings finished in stainless steel or brass, in Small or Large sizes.
How it works
Small stands 50cm high with a 20cm diameter; Large stands 67cm high with a 25cm diameter. Both take an E27 fitting (bulb not included) and hang on 300cm of round, white cord that can be shortened as needed. We'd recommend a qualified electrician fits any hardwired ceiling pendant.
Where it works best
Its dense, structured fold gives a warmer, more contained glow than Le Klint's more open shades, which suits it to a dining table or living space where you want a sculptural focal point.
Made By Le Klint
Le Klint's pleating tradition dates to around 1900, when P.V. Jensen-Klint hand folded a shade for a petroleum lamp, drawing on Japanese origami. That family craft became a company when Tage Klint founded Le Klint in 1943, the same lineage behind Esben Klint's heritage Model 107 of 1942. Poul Christiansen designed Comet within this tradition in 2003, and it's still pleated entirely by hand in the Odense workshop today, a skill that takes a new folder around a year to learn and two to three years more to master.

Questions People Ask
What size should I choose, Small or Large? Small stands 50cm high with a 20cm diameter, suiting a tighter spot such as a bedside or narrow hallway, while Large stands 67cm high with a 25cm diameter and works better as a single statement over a dining table or in a living space.
Which fitting finish should I pick? Comet comes in stainless steel or brass; both take the same pleated shade, so it comes down to which metal tone matches the rest of your room.
Can I shorten the cord? Yes, it hangs on 300cm of round, white cord that can be shortened as needed to suit your ceiling height.
