The second size in the Caleo range, scaled up from Pendant 1 while keeping the same bronze stringed, hand pleated paper shade that won Rikke Frost the 2019 series of Denmark's Next Classic.

Available as plain hand pleated paper or with bronze coloured stringing tracing the folds, both made in Germany to Le Klint's paper specification.

How it works

It stands 56cm high with a 36cm diameter, on an E27 fitting with a maximum recommended 20W LED (bulb not included), and hangs on 300cm of round, linen coloured cord.

Its mid size suits a dining table or a living room where you want a clear focal point without the scale of the largest pendant in the range.

The pleating on Caleo 2 continues a craft that began close to 1900, when P.V. Jensen-Klint, inspired by Japanese paper folding, pleated a shade to soften the harsh light of a petroleum lamp. What started as a family pastime became a proper company when Tage Klint founded Le Klint in 1943, a year after Esben Klint's Model 107 pendant set the template still followed today. That same hand pleating, done in Le Klint's Odense workshop, takes new folders roughly a year to learn and two to three years to fully master across every model the brand makes.
