Le Klint 110 Plivello Pendant - White & Gold

A Tiered Silhouette, Kept Compact

Plivello is Le Klint's tiered take on a hanging light: a series of graduated, hand pleated paper drums stacked to build height rather than width. Designed by Christian Troels in 2022, the 110 is the shortest pendant in the range, its white pleated paper set against gold finished aluminium fittings.

How it works

It stands 34cm high with a 30cm diameter, on an E27 fitting with a maximum recommended 20W LED (bulb not included), and hangs on 300cm of round, white cord that can be shortened for a lower ceiling. As with all Le Klint pendants, we'd recommend a qualified electrician fits any hardwired ceiling light.

Where it works best

Its compact height suits a lower ceiling or a spot where you want the tiered silhouette without a long drop, such as above a side table, a reading chair or a smaller dining setting.

Where the craft began

Le Klint's pleating traces back to around 1900, when the architect P.V. Jensen-Klint folded a paper shade for a petroleum lamp to soften its glare, taking his cue from Japanese origami. What began as a way to solve one lamp's harsh light became a skill the wider Klint family refined over the following decades, and Tage Klint formally founded Le Klint as a company in 1943.

Learning the fold

Every tier on the 110 is still pleated by hand in Le Klint's Odense workshop today, using that same cross folding technique. Le Klint says it takes new folders around a year to learn the basic fold, and two to three years to master it across every model in the collection.

Does the 110 come with a bulb? No, it's supplied without one. It takes a single E27 fitting, and we'd recommend a maximum 20W LED to stay within the recommended output.

Can I dim it? Yes, it can be dimmed when used with a compatible dimmer switch.

Is it suitable for a bathroom? No. It carries an IP20 rating and Class II insulation, so it's designed for dry indoor rooms rather than a bathroom or other damp space.
