Kichler Vandalia Single Wall Lantern - Textured Black

A Round Cage Lantern for Porches and Doorways

The Kichler Vandalia Wall Lantern is a compact outdoor wall light shaped like a small globe. A clear seeded glass ball sits inside a cage of slim black hoops, and a handle shaped loop connects it to a short arm on a round back plate. It has the character of a carriage lantern without the formality, so it works as well on a modern house as on a traditional one.

Textured Black Finish

The finish is textured black, a matt coating with a fine, slightly sandy surface. It holds its shape visually against pale render and brick and disappears nicely against dark cladding. The glass has a scattering of tiny bubbles that glitter once the lamp is on.

How It Works

• One E27 lamp holder, suited to an LED bulb (not supplied)
• Dimmable with a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer
• Steel body with a seeded glass globe and round back plate
• Rated IP44, protected against splashing water for sheltered outdoor use
• Class I electrical fitting, which needs an earth connection

A vintage style filament bulb makes the most of the open globe.

Where It Works Best

Put one either side of a front door, beside a garage, or at a side gate or back door. Its 30.7cm height keeps it in proportion on a narrow wall, and it projects 25cm, so check there is room beside a door before you choose a spot. Under a porch roof it sits comfortably out of the worst of the weather.

Can I dim it?
Yes, if you fit a dimmable E27 LED bulb and use a compatible dimmer.
