Kichler Carlson Single Wall Lantern - Rubbed Bronze

A Compact Hinged Lantern With Early American Charm

The Kichler Carlson is a neat little outdoor wall lantern in the old style of an early American carriage lamp. A box shaped frame with a curved top handle holds glass panels on every side, and a hinged front door swings open so you can change the bulb without any tools. It is a small, friendly lantern that suits porches, side doors and garden walls.

Rubbed Bronze With Seeded Glass

The rubbed bronze finish is a deep, dark brown with a fine gold toned line along the edges, which gives the metal a hand finished, slightly worn feel. The glass is seeded and heavily textured, with a streaky, rippled look that softens the bulb and gives the lit lantern a gentle, warm glow rather than a harsh point of light.

How It Works

• One E27 lamp holder, with a 25W bulb (bulb not supplied)
• Dimmable when you use a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer
• Aluminium body with seeded glass panels
• Hinged front door with a latch for easy lamp changes
• Rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water
• Class I electrical fitting, which needs an earth connection

Where It Works Best

At 27.9cm tall, it is just right beside a standard front door, on a porch wall, next to a back door or on a garden shed or summerhouse. Use a pair either side of a door for a traditional look, or a single lantern where there is little space.

Questions People Ask

How big is the Carlson lantern?
It is 27.9cm tall and 15.7cm wide, and it projects only 10.8cm, so it does not stick out much from the wall.

How do I change the bulb?
The front door is hinged and has a latch, so you can open it and change the bulb easily.

Can it be used outside?
Yes. It has an IP44 rating, so it copes with splashing water and suits a porch, doorway or sheltered wall.

Will the light be bright?
It takes one 25W bulb behind textured glass, so the light is soft and welcoming rather than strong.
