A Weathered Pedestal Lantern for Gate Posts and Garden Walls

The Kichler Ashland Bay Medium Pedestal Lantern takes the harbour lamp look of the Ashland Bay range and sets it on a short, round base, so it can stand on a pier, gate post or low wall. Ribbed seeded glass sits inside a slim frame under a riveted cap and carry handle, and a clear bulb glows in the middle.

Weathered Zinc Finish

The finish is weathered zinc, a grainy dark pewter grey with an aged, almost iron look. It sits comfortably on brick, stone and render piers, and it matches weathered zinc wall lanterns used around the front of the house. Rough texture on the metal makes it easy to live with outdoors.

• One E27 lamp holder, suited to an LED bulb (bulb not supplied)
• Dimmable when you choose a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer
• Steel body with seeded glass, mounted on a round foot and short stem
• Rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water for sheltered outdoor use
• Class I electrical fitting, which needs an earth connection

An LED filament bulb in a classic bulb shape works well in the ribbed glass.

Where It Works Best

Put it on the top of a driveway gate pillar, a low garden wall, a brick pier at the end of a path or a step side wall. It lights the ground around it and marks out the way in, and a matching pair either side of a gateway looks very smart.
