A Pedestal Lantern To Crown A Gate Pillar Or Wall

The Kichler Ashland Bay Medium Pedestal Lantern is an outdoor light designed to stand on a base instead of hanging from a wall bracket. A banded seeded glass jar sits between slim posts, under a domed cap with a wavy carry handle, and it rests on a round pedestal with a flared foot. It gives a gateway or wall end a neat finishing touch.

Burnished Bronze Finish

The metal is finished in burnished bronze, a deep, brownish tone with a brushed grain that you can see clearly on the foot and pedestal. The cap and posts are slightly lighter than the base in the studio photos, which gives the lantern a layered, aged look. It suits brick pillars, stone walls and timber gates equally well.

Where It Works Best

Use it on a brick or stone gate pillar, at the end of a low garden wall or beside a driveway entrance. A pair on either side of a gateway looks stately, and a single pedestal lantern also works at the top of a flight of steps to mark the way.

The foot of the pedestal is 17.8cm across, so the top of your pillar or wall should be at least that wide to carry it comfortably.

How tall is the pedestal lantern?
The whole light stands 47.1cm high, and the glass section is 22.6cm tall.

Does the handle lift the lantern off?
No. The handle is part of the design and not for lifting. The lantern stays on its pedestal.

Can it be dimmed?
