Karman Marnìn Deer Wall Lamp - Ceramic White

A hunting trophy with a sense of humour

Marnìn reimagines the classic hunting trophy as a young deer's head cast in ceramic, with its nose standing in for the light source. Karman describes the design as an exercise in playful irony, taking a decor trope usually reserved for taxidermy and turning it into something warm and approachable. It's a quietly funny piece that still reads as considered design once it's on your wall.

Matt white ceramic

The head is finished in matt white ceramic, a soft chalky surface that keeps the sculpted ears and features soft in normal light and glows evenly when the lamp is switched on. The pale finish means it sits comfortably against most wall colours without drawing too much attention when unlit.

How it works

A single E27 bulb, rated up to 70W, sits behind the nose so the light emerges as a warm point rather than a wash across the wall. Marnìn is a mains wired fixed wall light, wired directly into your home's electrics rather than plugged into a socket.

Where it works best

Its trophy silhouette works well in a hallway, snug or living room, somewhere it can be appreciated at a glance rather than relied on for reading light. Grouped with other Zoo pieces it makes a characterful gallery wall, or it can stand alone as a single conversation starter above a console or fireplace.

Karman's Zoo collection

Marnìn is part of Karman's Zoo collection, a series of ceramic animal head wall and table lights designed by art director Matteo Ugolini. The same collection includes Ugo Rilla the gorilla, Cubano the toucan and Ti-Vedo the owl, each one Karman states is made entirely in Italy.
