Karman Maoo Cat Wall Lamp - Fucsia Velvet

A splash of mischief in fuchsia

Maoo starts with a small story: a cat, cast in ceramic, seems to spring across the wall towards a glass sphere lampshade, where a mouse shaped sticker glows softly inside. Designed by Matteo Ugolini for Karman's Zoo collection, it's a piece built to make people smile, whether it's hung above a console table or left to perch on a shelf.

Fuchsia flocked ceramic

This colourway takes the cat's ceramic body and gives it a fuchsia flocked finish, a fine textured coating applied over the ceramic that reads as soft and velvety to the eye and touch, rather than a fabric covering. Paired with the frosted glass sphere, it's one of the boldest of Karman's Maoo colourways, made for a room that wants a genuine pop of colour.

How it works

The glass sphere takes a single G9 bulb, rated to a maximum of 5W if using LED, and the bulb isn't included. Light spreads softly through the frosted glass, with the mouse shaped sticker inside catching the glow.

Its scale is modest and its character is anything but shy, so it tends to suit rooms that can take a bit of colour: a nursery or child's bedroom, a hallway that needs personality, or a home office where a splash of fuchsia lifts the mood.

Karman's Zoo collection

Maoo belongs to Karman's Zoo collection, a family of lighting pieces that Karman states takes its cues from the animal kingdom, each one designed to bring a sense of play into everyday interiors. Karman is an Italian lighting brand founded in 2005 in Fossombrone, in the Marche region, and describes its production as 100% Italian made.
