A flash of orange, mid pounce
Maoo is a small joke rendered in ceramic and glass: a cat appears to leap towards a glass sphere lampshade, where a mouse shaped sticker glows inside once the light goes on. Matteo Ugolini designed it for Karman's Zoo collection, and this table version sets the scene on any flat surface, with no wall fixing needed.
Orange flocked ceramic
Here the cat is finished in a bright orange, using a flocked coating over the ceramic body that gives it a soft, velvety matt surface rather than a glossy one. It's paired with a frosted glass sphere for the lampshade.
How it works
As a freestanding piece, it simply plugs into a standard socket and sits wherever you put it, no electrician or fixings required. The sphere takes a single G9 bulb, rated to a maximum of 5W if using LED, and the bulb isn't included.
Where it works best
The bold colour suits playful, maximalist spaces, a creative studio, a teenager's room, or a living room shelf where you want a genuine talking point.
Karman's Zoo collection
This piece belongs to Karman's Zoo collection, where animal shapes are reworked into lighting with a sense of humour. Karman states that its pieces are made wholly in Italy.
