Karman Lilly Table Lamp - Smoked Glass

A two tone glass table lamp with quiet contrast

Lilly is a table lamp built almost entirely from glass: base and shade in one continuous, curving silhouette designed by Giorgio Silla. In this version, the body is cast in smoked glass, topped with a transparent glass diffuser, so the lamp reads as two tones of the same material rather than a lamp with visible fittings.

Karman describes this finish as a two tone piece, a smoked glass body carrying a transparent glass diffuser. The contrast is subtle rather than bold. The smoked glass warms and softens the light before it reaches the clear diffuser above, giving this Lilly a moodier, more atmospheric presence than her frosted white or fully transparent siblings.

How it works

Lilly takes two E27 bulbs, up to 18W each if using LED, rated IP20 for indoor dry use. Bulbs aren't included, so you can choose the warmth and brightness that suits the room.

Where it works best

The smoked tone makes this version well suited to spaces where you want ambient, low glare light rather than a bright feature, a living room console, a bedside table, or a study corner where the glass takes the edge off the light before it reaches you.

The name behind the lamp

Karman names the collection after Lilly Reich, the Bauhaus era German architect and exhibition designer known for her work with Mies van der Rohe, including the glass focused "Glass Room" exhibition. It's a fitting reference for a lamp built almost entirely from glass.
