Karman Cubano Toucan Wall Lamp - White

A toucan with an unmistakable silhouette

The Cubano wall lamp takes its shape from a toucan's head, with an oversized curved beak that gives the piece its unmistakable profile. Karman states the sculpted surface takes its texture cues from lace and pastry work, a playful detail that turns a light fitting into a piece of wall art. Switched off, it reads as a striking ceramic sculpture. Switched on, the beak glows softly, giving the room a warm, characterful focal point.

Matt white ceramic

Cast in matt white ceramic, the Cubano wears a smooth, chalky finish that softens the light it throws and keeps the silhouette clean against most wall colours. The white body lets the sculpted texture of the beak and feathers catch the light rather than compete with it.

How it works

The fitting takes a single E27 bulb rated up to 52W, tucked inside the beak so the glow reads as a gentle silhouette rather than a direct beam. It's a mains wired fixed wall light, connected directly to your home's electrics rather than plugged into a socket.

Where it works best

Its scale and character suit a hallway, living room or dining space where it can be seen properly, ideally at eye level or just above. Because it's a fixed sculptural piece rather than a task light, it works best as a statement above a console table, sofa or bed rather than as a reading light.

Karman's Zoo collection

Cubano belongs to Karman's Zoo collection, a series of ceramic animal head lights designed by art director Matteo Ugolini that also includes Ugo Rilla the gorilla, Corrado the bull and Marnìn the deer. Each piece treats a familiar animal form with a knowing sense of humour, made 100% in Italy according to Karman.
