At 20 inches long, the Winchester Wall Light is built to wash light evenly across a larger painting or mirror rather than light a room in general. Interiors 1900 gives it the same mellow brass finish as the rest of the Winchester range, a softer tone than a bright polished brass.

Choosing Within the Winchester Range

This picture light comes in one length and one finish, so the choice is about scale and use rather than colour: at 51cm long, it is built for a larger frame than a small picture light would suit, and its swing arm projects and lifts to direct light precisely, unlike the Winchester Table Lamp in the same finish, which is meant for a desk or bedside surface rather than artwork.

How It Works

Two E14 LED lamps (not supplied, up to 4W each) sit in an arm that can be adjusted in height from around 16cm to 25cm and projects out from around 29cm to 35cm, letting you angle the light across the piece it is illuminating. It is dimmable when used with suitable dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer, and the fitting is rated Class I.

Where It Works Best

Its length and adjustable arm suit a hallway, staircase or living room wall where a larger painting, print or mirror needs even light across its surface, somewhere a small picture light would fall short. Within the Winchester range, this is the fitting for artwork specifically, while the table lamp serves as general task lighting instead.

Interiors 1900 is known first for its handmade Tiffany glass lighting, established in 1983, but the brand's solid brass Winchester range shows a different, more architectural side of the same company.
