The Sullivan 3 Light Inverted Pendant turns three richly coloured Tiffany glass shades upward and outward from a central fitting, so the glasswork itself becomes the visible feature rather than a shade pointing down at the table.

The Sullivan Look

Each shade is hand assembled from individual pieces of coloured glass in Sullivan's floral design, so you can expect gentle variation in colour and texture from one panel to the next. That is part of genuine handmade glasswork rather than a flaw, and it means no two Sullivan pieces are ever quite identical.

How It Works

Each of the three arms takes an E27 lamp rated up to 60W, and the fitting hangs on an adjustable drop of roughly 600mm to 1000mm with a shade diameter of around 570mm. Because Tiffany glass is largely opaque, most of the light comes through the coloured panels themselves, so this is a decorative and mood piece rather than a strong task light. Most Sullivan fittings, this one included, take a standard replaceable E27 lamp rather than an integral LED engine, so there is no obsolescence risk if a driver eventually fails, and you retain the freedom to choose the exact warmth of lamp you want.

Where It Works Best

Being inverted, this pendant suits a spot where you look up into the glass, such as over a dining table, breakfast bar or in a hallway with a decent ceiling height, rather than a low pendant meant to be viewed side on. Compared with the Sullivan 3 Light Large Pendant, which hangs shade down, the inverted design puts the coloured glass on more direct display.

Interiors 1900 first made its name in 1983 with handmade Tiffany style lamps, and that heritage is still at the centre of ranges like Sullivan more than four decades later. Each shade is assembled by hand from individual pieces of glass, a slower process than moulded alternatives, but one that gives every Sullivan piece its own quiet character.
