Choosing Your Stanford Look

Left completely bare, this is the fitting to choose where you want the brass arm itself visible and the light left uncovered. The sibling Stanford Single Wall Light in Antique Brass & Beige Organza Shade takes the identical single arm frame and adds a hand pleated organza shade over the lamp for a softer, more traditional finish. Both fix to the wall in exactly the same way, so it is a straightforward choice between exposed brass and dressed shade.

How It Works

A single E14 candle lamp rated up to 40W sits on the arm, and the fitting is dimmable with a suitable dimmable LED lamp and a compatible leading or trailing edge dimmer. It is Class 1 (earthed). With the lamp fully exposed, a 2200K to 2700K CRI 90+ LED filament lamp will give the most flattering glow, and a lower output or frosted lamp is worth considering if the fitting sits at eye level.

Where It Works Best

Its compact size makes this the fitting to use in a run, spaced evenly along a hallway or staircase wall, or as a single accent beside a bedroom door or over a console table. Being unshaded, it suits interiors that already favour exposed materials, and it works particularly well set in a repeating row where the brass arms themselves create the rhythm.
