Choosing Your Stanford Look

Pick this version when the room calls for a large, softly lit chandelier rather than a display of bare brass, the shades diffuse light from all eight lamps into a gentle, even wash. The plain Stanford 8 Light Pendant in Antique Brass uses the same eight arm frame with nothing over the lamps, for a brighter, more sparkling effect at the same scale. Both hang on an adjustable chain, so the choice is about atmosphere rather than size.

How It Works

Eight E14 candle lamps rated up to 40W each sit behind the pleated shades, and the pendant is height adjustable at installation with a drop of roughly 450mm to 1550mm. It is Class 1 (earthed) and dimmable with a suitable dimmable LED lamp and a compatible leading or trailing edge dimmer switch. With all eight lamps shaded, the light is soft and diffused throughout, making colour temperature the main consideration when choosing a dimmable LED lamp.

Where It Works Best

This is the fitting for a large, formal dining room or a grand hallway where a substantial, warmly lit chandelier is wanted rather than a sparkling display of brass. Given its scale and weight, have the ceiling structure and fixing point checked by a qualified electrician before installation.
