Choosing Your Stanford Look

This bare brass version puts every arm and lamp on full display, giving a bright, glittering spread of light across a large room. The sibling Stanford 8 Light Pendant in Antique Brass & Beige Organza Shades uses the identical eight arm frame but shades every lamp in hand pleated organza for a warmer, more enveloping glow. Both share the same adjustable chain, so the decision is really about brilliance versus warmth at this larger scale.

How It Works

Eight E14 candle lamps rated up to 40W each sit on the arms, and the pendant is height adjustable at installation with a drop of roughly 450mm to 1550mm, so it can be set for both high and low ceilings. It is Class 1 (earthed) and dimmable with a suitable dimmable LED lamp and a compatible leading or trailing edge dimmer. With eight exposed lamps in view, a 2200K to 2700K CRI 90+ LED filament lamp will give the richest, most flattering colour, and a frosted or lower output lamp is worth choosing to avoid glare in a room where people sit beneath it.

Where It Works Best

This is a fitting for a genuinely grand space, a large dining room, entrance hall or double height stairwell where a fitting of real scale is wanted. Given its size and weight, it is worth having the ceiling structure and fixing point checked by a qualified electrician before installation. Next to its shaded sibling, the bare brass version suits a room that wants maximum sparkle.
