Where the standard Hutchinson pendant sends its light down through three separate shades, this large inverted version flips the idea around, gathering the Tiffany style glass into a single wide bowl that faces the ceiling. The result is a softer, reflected glow rather than three distinct pools of light.

Choosing Your Hutchinson

This is the large inverted pendant, sharing its 50cm scale with the standard 3 light large pendant and the large flush fitting, but changing how the light is delivered. Choose the inverted shade for a softer, bounced light off the ceiling, or the standard 3 light large pendant if you want the light directed downward instead. The Hutchinson Medium Inverted 3 Light Pendant offers the same upward facing idea in a smaller 40cm size.

How It Works

Three E27 lampholders sit within the bowl shaped shade, each rated up to 60W, with LED lamps recommended for everyday running. The chain is adjustable between 45cm and 68cm, and the fitting is dimmable when used with a suitable dimmable lamp and dimmer switch.

Where It Works Best

Because the shade faces upward, this pendant throws light onto the ceiling and walls rather than directly down, which makes it a good choice over a dining table or in a living room where a softer, more ambient glow is wanted rather than focused task light. Its shorter adjustment range compared with the standard pendant also suits rooms with more moderate ceiling heights.
