Hector Medium Inverted turns its three handcrafted Tiffany style shades to face upward, so light washes across the ceiling before spilling back down into the room, softening the coloured glasswork into an ambient glow rather than a direct light source.
Choosing Your Hector
Where the standard Hector Medium Pendant hangs its shade downward for direct light, this inverted version is built for reflected, ambient lighting and shares its adjustable drop range with that model. Choose the inverted fitting for a softer feel, or the standard pendant if you want the glasswork itself to be the focal point at eye level.
How It Works
Three E27 lamp holders each take a 60W GLS lamp, not supplied, and the fitting dims when fitted with dimmable lamps on a compatible dimmer circuit. Wired to Class I, the drop adjusts between 60cm and 100cm, with a shade diameter of 40cm.
Where It Works Best
The upward throw suits dining tables and living room seating areas where a softer, reflected light is preferable to a direct glare, and the adjustable drop lets it be set to clear a table or sit closer to a lower ceiling.
Made By Interiors 1900
Since 1983, Interiors 1900 has built its reputation on handmade Tiffany style glass, later broadening into brass, crystal and classic lighting while keeping the traditional methods that started the company. Hector takes its name and its flowing lines from Hector Guimard, the architect behind the Art Nouveau entrances to the Paris Metro, and each of these three shades is pieced together from individual sections of coloured glass, so gentle variation between them is simply how the glass was made.
