One Dragonfly, Several Ways to Live With It

Dragonfly is the family name for this design across the Interiors 1900 range, and Flame is its warmest colourway, worked in reds and ambers rather than the cooler Beige or Blue versions of the same wing pattern. Within Flame itself the choice is really one of scale and format: this floor lamp shares its fifty centimetre shade with the largest pendant in the family, so if you already own a Dragonfly Flame ceiling fitting, the floor lamp is the natural companion piece rather than a mismatched addition.

Where It Works Best

At just over a metre and a half tall, this is a light for floor space you can spare beside an armchair, at the end of a sofa or in an empty corner that needs both illumination and colour. It suits rooms with darker evenings in mind, since the glass genuinely does more work after dusk than in daylight. Where the table lamps in this range are made for a sideboard or console, the floor lamp asks for a patch of open floor and gives back a much bigger spread of coloured light in return.

Made By Interiors 1900

Interiors 1900 was established in 1983 and built its reputation on handmade Tiffany style lamps before growing, over more than four decades, into solid brass, crystal and classically inspired lighting. The Dragonfly design draws on that original Tiffany period, and every shade is still assembled by hand from individual pieces of coloured glass, which is why no two lamps are quite identical in tone or soldering line. Interiors 1900 sits within the Poole Lighting group, alongside Endon and Saxby, occupying the more decorative end of that stable.
