At half a metre across, this is the largest flush fitting in the Dragonfly Blue collection, built for ceilings where a smaller shade would simply look lost. Three lamps sit behind handcrafted stained glass, throwing blue and green light out across the room rather than down in a single beam.

Built For Scale, Not Just Height

Because it sits flush against the ceiling rather than hanging on a chain, this fitting works where a pendant cannot, in a hallway with people walking beneath it, over a stairwell, or in a room with a lower ceiling where headroom is tight. The 500mm shade gives it enough presence to hold its own in a larger room without needing the extra drop that the hanging versions in the range use to make an impact.

How It Works

The shade measures 500mm across and projects 315mm down from the ceiling, with no adjustable drop since this is a semi flush fixing rather than a pendant. It takes 3 x 60W E27 (ES) lamps, not included, and is dimmable when fitted with a suitable dimmable LED lamp and compatible dimmer. The fitting is finished in a dark bronze effect and rated Class 1.

Where It Works Best

Set beside the Large Inverted 3 Light Pendant in this range, the difference is straightforward. That pendant drops on a chain for rooms with height to spare, while this semi flush stays close to the ceiling for rooms that do not have it. It suits dining rooms, landings, and hallways where a large, colourful light is wanted but a low hanging pendant is not practical.

Interiors 1900 has been making Tiffany style lighting since 1983, and a fitting of this size shows why the technique still holds up at scale. Every pane in the shade is coloured while the glass is still molten, then cut and leaded by hand, so no two shades come out quite the same. Over the following decades the brand grew into solid brass and crystal ranges too, but this semi flush stays close to where the company started, with the glasswork doing all the talking.
