A Pool Of Coloured Light
Standing at floor height, the Dragonfly Blue Floor Lamp puts its stained glass shade exactly where its colours can do the most work, filling a dark corner with a wash of deep blue and green light rather than the flat white glare of an ordinary lamp.
Why Blue
This colourway sets the Dragonfly motif against deep blues and greens with warm amber beading, a more graphic and jewel like combination than the ivory and honey tones of the Beige version in the wider range. It suits rooms with darker or more contemporary colour schemes, where a floor lamp is expected to add colour rather than simply blend in.
How It Works
The lamp stands 1560mm tall with a 500mm diameter shade, and takes 2 x 60W E27 (ES) lamps, not included. It is dimmable when fitted with a suitable dimmable LED lamp and compatible dimmer, and is operated by a pull cord at the lampholder.
Where It Works Best
As the only floor standing piece in the Dragonfly Blue family, it fills the gap the table lamps in this range cannot, beside an armchair, at the end of a sofa, or lighting a reading corner that has no space for a side table.
Made By Interiors 1900
Interiors 1900 built its reputation on handmade Tiffany style lighting from 1983 onwards, and this floor lamp shows that heritage at full scale. Its shade is assembled from individually cut pieces of glass, coloured while molten so that, as Interiors 1900 puts it, each piece carries its own life and individuality. The brand has since grown into solid brass and crystal lighting too, but a piece this size still puts the original Tiffany craft front and centre.
