Brooklyn Acorn, a Single Drop of Glass

Named for the rounded, tapering shape of its shade, the Brooklyn acorn pendant is the most compact hanging light in the family, a single lamp wrapped in warm amber and beige glass that reads almost like a piece of jewellery when lit against a dark ceiling.

Choosing Your Brooklyn Piece

This acorn shade is narrower than the standard Brooklyn Medium Single Pendant, at around 25cm across against roughly 40cm, so it gives a tighter pool of light rather than a broad wash. Choose the acorn where you want several smaller pendants grouped together, and the standard pendant where one fitting needs to do more work alone.

How It Works

A single E27 lamp, rated up to 60W, sits inside the shade, and the fitting is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable LED lamp and compatible dimmer switch. The chain is adjustable from around 45cm up to 125cm, so the drop can be set to suit the ceiling height and the surface it hangs above.

Where It Works Best

Its small footprint makes it ideal for grouping in twos or threes over a kitchen island or dining table, or dotting individually along a hallway, where the Brooklyn Large Inverted Pendant would be too dominant for the space. It also suits a single drop beside a reading chair.

Each acorn shade is built from individually cut pieces of coloured glass, soldered by hand, so faint variation in tone from one pendant to the next is simply proof of the process rather than a defect.
