Brooklyn Semi Flush, Built Low for Low Ceilings

At just 35cm deep, this semi flush fitting was designed with a specific problem in mind: how to bring the Brooklyn glasswork into a room without enough headroom for a hanging pendant. Its unusual, faceted glass shade catches light from three lamps and throws it in every direction.

Choosing Your Brooklyn Piece

Where the Large 2 Light Flush is wider and lower output, this Medium 3 Light Semi Flush trades a little diameter for a third lamp, giving it more overall brightness in a similarly shallow fitting. It is the one to choose if your room needs more light rather than more spread.

How It Works

Three E27 lamps, rated up to 60W each, sit behind bevelled and textured glass in a steel frame, and the fitting is dimmable with a suitable dimmable LED lamp and compatible dimmer. It carries an IP20 rating, confirming it is designed for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms.

Where It Works Best

Its shallow 35cm depth makes it particularly suited to bedrooms, landings and living rooms with lower or period ceilings where a full pendant would sit awkwardly close to head height. Compared with the Brooklyn Large Inverted Pendant, it gives a similar three lamp output without needing the drop.

Interiors 1900 built its name from 1983 onward on handmade Tiffany style glasswork, and this semi flush fitting is a direct descendant of that original craft. The glass is hand mixed while molten and cut into individual panels, so the variation in colour and texture between shades is part of the character rather than an inconsistency. Today the brand sits within the Poole Lighting group alongside Endon and Saxby, occupying the more decorative end of that stable's range.
