Brooklyn Large Inverted, Three Lights in a Ring of Glass

Turn the usual pendant shape on its head and you get this fitting: three lights rising into a wide inverted bowl of Brooklyn glasswork, so the light bounces up through cream and beige tones before spilling back down into the room. It is the most sculptural piece in the Brooklyn ceiling range.

Choosing Your Brooklyn Piece

This is the three light, large diameter option within the Brooklyn pendant family, sitting above the single bulb acorn and standard pendants in both scale and output. Choose it over the flush fitting if you have the ceiling height to spare and want a genuine hanging centrepiece rather than a close mounted glow.

How It Works

Three E27 lamps, each rated up to 60W, sit within the inverted glass bowl, and the fitting is dimmable when used with a suitable dimmable LED lamp and dimmer switch. The chain allows the height to be adjusted from around 45cm up to a full 68cm drop, so it can be set for a low coffee table area or a taller dining table.

Where It Works Best

Its scale and triple light output suit open plan living areas, dining rooms and entrance halls with generous ceiling height, where the Brooklyn Large 2 Light Flush would look comparatively modest. Over a dining table it gives a wide, even wash of light rather than the single pool cast by the acorn pendant.

Interiors 1900 first made its name in 1983 with handmade Tiffany style lamps, and this inverted pendant carries that same glasswork forward at a larger scale. Every panel is cut and soldered by hand, so gentle variation in colour and texture across the shade is a mark of genuine handmade glass rather than a fault. Since those early years the brand has broadened into solid brass and crystal lighting too, but pieces like this remain firmly rooted in its original Tiffany craft.
