Where the rest of the Astoria ceiling range spreads its light across two or three lamps, the Medium Single Pendant does the opposite, one shade, one light source, hung on a chain long enough to bring it right down into the room if you want.

Choosing Your Astoria Fitting

Astoria's mixed iridescent glass is shared across every fitting, so this pendant's role in the family comes down to scale and drop. At 40cm across, its shade is noticeably smaller than the 48cm shades used on the Large Inverted and 3 Light Pendant, and its chain is adjustable across a wide range, from around 45cm up to 125cm, giving it more flexibility for grouping than the family's larger multi light pieces.

How It Works

A single E27 lamp holder is fitted within the shade, rated up to 60W. The chain is adjustable at installation, so you can hang it low over a small table or higher for general room lighting, and its narrower 40cm shade makes it a natural choice for grouping two or three together above a run of worktop or a longer table.

Where It Works Best

This pendant suits kitchens, breakfast bars and smaller dining spaces where a single, more compact shade fits better than the family's larger 3 light options, or where you want to hang two or three side by side rather than one large fitting. Next to the 3 Light Pendant, it is the leaner, more adaptable choice for tighter spaces.

Made By Interiors 1900

Interiors 1900 has handcrafted its lighting since 1983, and this single pendant carries the same Art Deco glasswork as the rest of the Astoria range in a smaller, more versatile format. The glass is mixed by hand while molten and bevelled afterward, so the finished shade has a texture and depth of colour that varies slightly from one pendant to the next, a natural mark of handmade glass rather than something to consider a fault. The company's collections have since grown to include solid brass and crystal lighting alongside ranges like this one.
