Where the UpLighter Floor Lamp throws light upward off the ceiling for ambient background lighting, this standard floor lamp directs light out through its 48cm shade at seating height, closer in feel to the Medium Table Lamp but scaled for standing use.

How It Works

Two E27 lamp holders sit within the 48cm shade, rated for GLS lamps up to 60W each. This fitting is not dimmable, so it is best paired with a lamp of the brightness you want rather than a dimmer switch. Its height of 156cm puts the shade at a natural seating height, casting light downward and out rather than upward.

Where It Works Best

This is a living room or bedroom lamp, best placed beside a chair or sofa where its 48cm shade can do the work of a reading or ambient light. Next to the UpLighter Floor Lamp, which washes light off the ceiling, this version gives a more focused, warmer pool of light closer to where you are sitting.
