Solid Copper on the Mains

This is the Hunza Step Light Square GU10 in copper, a flush recessed fitting for masonry, stone or wood that connects directly to the mains. With no transformer to place, it is a simple choice for steps and terraces near the house. It lights paved areas and driveways too, and can serve as a recessed uplighter.

A Finish That Develops Over Time

The copper is solid, not plated, and Hunza intends it to weather outdoors. It starts bright and warm, deepens to brown, and in time takes on a soft green. If you would like it to stay the same, a stainless steel or powder coated version is made instead. Within 14 days of delivery you can send it back if it is unused, uninstalled and in its original packaging.

How It Works

• Mains voltage with no driver required, wired in parallel.
• Uses a GU10 lamp, not included. To protect the IP rating and warranty, fit a Hunza approved LED lamp.
• Recessed body 63.5mm in diameter and 90mm long.
• 88mm wide flange, 7mm deep, over a 63.5mm cut out.
• Mounting holes are provided, and a canister installation does not need them.
• IP67 rated and covered by a 10 year warranty.
• The same step light is also made for low voltage.

• Expect solid copper to darken and patina outdoors, which is part of its character and not a fault.

Questions People Ask

Will the copper change colour?
Yes. Solid copper is designed to patina outdoors, going from bright copper to brown and eventually a soft green.

Is a GU10 lamp supplied?
No. You buy the lamp separately, and a Hunza approved LED is needed to keep the IP rating and warranty.

Does it run on low voltage?
No. This version runs on the mains with no driver required. A low voltage version is sold separately.

How deep must the recess be?
The body is 90mm long, with a 63.5mm cut out.
