Warm Copper Set Into the Ground

The copper version of the Hunza Step Light Square brings a warm metal tone to a flush recessed fitting. It goes into masonry, stone or wood, and lights steps, paved areas and driveways with a soft downward glow. It can also be turned to work as a recessed uplighter. This is the low voltage model and runs from a transformer.

Copper That Weathers Naturally

Hunza makes this fitting in solid copper, and designs it to be left outdoors to patina. New, it is bright and warm. With time it deepens to brown and then to a soft green, the way copper gutters and roofs do. This is a natural change and not a fault. You can return it within 14 days if it is unused, uninstalled and still in its original packaging.

How It Works

• Cut out size is 63.5mm, matching the 63.5mm diameter of the recessed body, which is 68.5mm long.
• The flange is 88mm wide and 7mm deep, and 1m of cable is supplied.
• It has mounting holes as standard. If you install using a canister you will not need them.
• MR16 lamp not included. A Hunza approved LED lamp is needed to maintain the IP rating and warranty.
• Wired in parallel on low voltage, with a transformer required.
• Rated IP67, with a 10 year warranty.
• Prefer mains? There is also a GU10 version.

• On timber decking steps, where copper sits well against warm wood

• Solid copper will darken and patina outdoors. This is normal.

Questions People Ask

Will the copper keep its bright colour?
No. Solid copper is designed to patina outdoors, moving from bright copper to brown and eventually a soft green.

Is there a lamp included?
No. A lamp is bought separately, and a Hunza approved LED is needed to keep the IP rating and warranty.

What size is the recess?
The cut out size is 63.5mm. The body is 68.5mm long and the flange is 88mm wide.

Is it a low voltage or mains fitting?
Low voltage. It needs a transformer, and a separate GU10 mains version is also available.
