If you have an established pond and the thought of drilling new holes through the base fills you with dread, this is the fitting you have been looking for. The Hunza Pond Light Weighted Base in Powder Coat is designed specifically to be placed on the floor of a pond without any fixing into the structure at all. The heavy-weighted base simply holds the luminaire securely in position at the bottom of the water, meaning you get a properly placed, beautifully lit pond without disturbing the lining, risking leaks or going through the upheaval of a major drainage job.
It is the solution that experienced pond lighting designers reach for time and again when working with existing ponds, and it is equally popular in new installations where the client wants the flexibility to reposition the lights as planting grows and the pond evolves over the seasons.
The fitting itself is cast aluminium with a UV stable matt powder coat finish, hand assembled in New Zealand to Hunza's well-established standards. Fully submersible to IP68, it features an adjustable arm so you can tilt the beam to exactly the angle you need, whether you are uplighting a marginal planting feature, illuminating the centre of a large wildlife pond or highlighting a fountain jet. Available in matt black, matt bronze, matt dark grey, matt olive green and matt silver star, you can choose a finish that reads naturally in the water and the landscape.
This fitting requires a Hunza-approved LED lamp to maintain the IP68 rating and the Hunza warranty. It operates on low voltage and requires a compatible transformer. It is ideal for garden ponds, wildlife ponds, natural swimming ponds, koi ponds, ornamental water features, decorative fountains and water gardens. It is not intended for use in conventional swimming pools.
