A Freestanding Underwater Spotlight That Needs No Fixing

The Hunza Weighted Base Pond Light in Copper sits on the floor of the pond under its own weight rather than clamping to an edge or feature. There is nothing to drill and nothing to fix through the liner, so it suits established ponds just as well as new builds, and you can move it to a new spot at any time simply by lifting and repositioning it.

Solid Copper

The lamp head, yoke and weighted base are all made from solid copper, hand assembled in New Zealand. Left unlacquered, copper develops a warm natural patina outdoors over time, so the fitting settles into a pond environment rather than sitting on top of it looking new. It pairs particularly well with stone, timber or planted pond edges.

How It Works

• The lamp head tilts within its yoke, and because the whole fitting is freestanding you can turn or reposition the base by hand to aim the beam exactly where you want it.
• Rated IP68 and fully submersible on a continuous basis, up to 2 metres deep.
• Lamp head measures 63.5mm in diameter and 75mm in length. The weighted base is 78mm in diameter and 45mm high. Supplied with 3 metres of cable.
• Runs on low voltage and needs a compatible transformer, which is sold separately.
• Takes a Hunza approved MR16 LED lamp, not supplied. Using anything else will affect the IP68 rating and invalidate the warranty.

Where It Works Best

This is a good fit for decorative garden ponds, koi ponds, wildlife ponds, natural ponds, water gardens and ornamental features and fountains, anywhere you want a light that sits freely on the pond floor rather than fixing to an edge. It is not designed for swimming pool use.

• No lamp is supplied. Fit a Hunza approved MR16 LED to keep the IP68 rating and 10 year warranty valid.

• Copper is a natural, living finish and will patinate with age. Colours shown are for guidance only and swatches are available on request.

Questions People Ask

Does this light need to be fixed to anything?
No. It sits on the pond floor under its own weight, so there is nothing to drill or fix through the liner.

Can I move it once it is installed?
Yes. Because it is freestanding rather than clamped in place, you can lift and reposition it at any time, including to aim the beam differently or to work around new planting.

Is the copper solid or plated?
The lamp head, yoke and base are all solid copper, not a plated finish over another metal, which is why it is left unlacquered to patinate naturally.

How deep can it be submerged?
It is IP68 rated and can stay fully submerged on a continuous basis to a depth of 2 metres.

What lamp does it take?
A Hunza approved MR16 LED lamp, which is not included. Fitting a different lamp affects the IP68 rating and the warranty.

Can this be used in a swimming pool?
No. It is intended for garden ponds, water gardens and ornamental water features, not swimming pools.
