Hunza Lawn Light GU10 - Solid Bronze - Mains

A Recessed Lawn Light With a Solid Bronze Face

Set flush into turf, the Hunza Lawn Light GU10 sends a narrow beam of light straight upwards instead of out to the sides. In this version the ring you see at lawn level is solid bronze, while the body below ground is powder coated aluminium. It connects directly to mains power.

Solid Bronze Flange, Powder Coated Body

This flange is bronze all the way through, not plated, so it will gradually darken and take on a natural patina outdoors, something Hunza regards as part of the design and not a defect. Below the surface the body is powder coated aluminium. For bronze right through, including the buried body, Hunza also makes a fully cast solid bronze version.

Optics and Dimensions

The beam can be angled up to 20 degrees off vertical, so you can lean it towards a nearby tree or shrub. The lens sits level with the grass, which keeps water and soil from collecting on it. The body measures 96mm across and about 90mm long, and the flange is 152mm across.

Lamp and Power

No lamp is included. Fit a Hunza approved GU10 LED lamp so that the IP rating and warranty stay valid. As it runs from the mains there is no transformer to buy, although a low voltage version of this fitting exists for schemes built around a transformer.

Where It Works Best

A good fit for open lawn that will be walked on, where the fitting must not become a trip hazard: lighting a specimen tree from below, marking a lawn edge beside a path or picking out one feature in a dark stretch of grass. Your supply needs to be mains rather than low voltage.

Planning Your Lawn Lighting With Us

Moonlight Design has worked with Hunza since 2003. We design lighting schemes for gardens, supply Hunza fittings and install them in real gardens. We often talk clients through the choice between this bronze flange version and the fully cast bronze one, which usually comes down to how hard the lawn is worked. On our Design Service page you will find photographs of our own completed schemes, along with how we plan each one, draw it up and install it with NICEIC registered electricians. It is well worth a visit before you decide where your lawn lights should go.

Questions People Ask

Is this light solid bronze all the way through?
No. The ring visible at lawn level is solid bronze, but the body beneath the surface is powder coated aluminium. Hunza makes a Cast Solid Bronze Lawn Light if you want bronze throughout.

Will the bronze flange change colour over time?
Yes, left outdoors it will darken and develop a natural patina. This is expected and does not affect performance.

Does it connect straight to the mains?
Yes, it connects straight to a mains circuit.

Is a lamp supplied?
No lamp is supplied. Buy a Hunza approved GU10 LED, which keeps the IP rating and 10 year warranty valid.

Can I get this for low voltage?
Yes, Hunza also makes this fitting for low voltage circuits fed from a transformer.
