Moonlighting From a Tree Trunk

The Hunza High Power LED Tree Mount is designed to fix onto a tree and throw light through it, creating the moonlit effect Hunza is known for. Hunza also suggests tree mounts for lighting the higher parts of a canopy or for cross lighting into other tall objects. It has a Cree CXB 1512 LED board built in, giving 1200 lumens at 700mA from 12 watts, and it is made from powder coated aluminium that carries the extra corrosion protection Hunza gives all its High Power fittings.

Powder Coated and Built to Last Outdoors

The body is virgin, high corrosion resistant aluminium with a chromate substrate and a UV resistant polyester powder coat, then protected by an additional powder coat layer. This listing is supplied in black. It is made to order, and it is non returnable unless faulty, so check the specification carefully before ordering. Once ordered, the fitting cannot be cancelled. Hunza gives it a 5 year warranty on the electronics and the aluminium, which does not cover third party power supplies.

How It Works

• A Cree CXB 1512 LED board is built in, and the board is plug and play and field replaceable. Hunza rates it at 50,000 hours to L70 with a CRI of 90 or more as standard (3000K).
• Output is 1200 lumens at 700mA from 12 watts, about 100 lumens per watt, measured from the luminaire with an unobstructed beam.
• Choose from 2700K, 3000K or 4000K colour temperature.
• Pick a narrow, medium or wide beam to suit the height and spread you need.
• Choose a clear or frosted lens for a sharper or softer pool of light. The lens glass is 10mm thick, extra clear, low iron and shatter resistant.
• This low voltage version is series wired on a 700mA constant current input (18Vf, 12 watts), so it needs a remote constant current LED driver, not supplied. Your electrician should confirm the right driver before installation.
• Rated IP66. The fitting weighs 0.87kg and is secured to the tree with a 1 metre adjustable rubber strap.
• Hunza offers a hex cell louvre, glare guard, snoot and cable joint kit as accessories for the High Power range.

Where It Works Best

• On the trunk of a mature tree, to light the canopy or the ground below
• On large specimen trees where a stronger output is wanted than a standard spotlight
• Along a woodland edge or boundary planting
• Wherever you want soft light to filter through branches and leaves
