Join Two Low Voltage Cables Securely
The Hunza Cable Joint Kit joins two separate cables using crimp sleeves and an adhesive heat shrink. Hunza recommends it on all low voltage cable connections, where correctly applied it makes a watertight seal that protects the luminaire from water ingress.
How We Plan and Install Hunza Lighting
Our team has worked with Hunza since 2003, supplying their fittings and installing them in real gardens. On the Design Service page you can see our finished lighting schemes and read how we plan, draw up and install them using NICEIC registered electricians. It is worth a look if you are planning cable runs for a new scheme.
Good to Know
- Made to order: usually ships within 2 to 3 days. If your specification is temporarily out of stock, allow 3 to 5 weeks.
- Each kit has two yellow 6mm crimp sleeves and a black adhesive heat shrink sleeve.
- Heat shrink is 12mm in diameter and 148mm long. Crimp sleeves are 6mm in diameter and 22mm long.
- You will need a heat gun. Apply heat until glue appears around both edges of the sleeve, taking care not to overheat it.
- Suitable for a 2 cable connection only. For a 3 way underground connection, use an IP67 enclosure with glands, or a junction box with hard setting resin.
- In very boggy ground, consider an IP67 junction box filled with resin.
- We recommend installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
