Choosing Cobalt Blue

Cobalt stands apart from Two's more neutral finishes, working best in a room or garden that already has colour to play with rather than one built entirely around muted tones. For something quieter in the same shape, the beige or ivory versions sit more into the background.

How It Works

Inside the dome, a G4 LED source rated 0.45W at 5V and 2600K runs through candle, ambiance and work modes, from a flickering low glow to genuine task light. A full charge takes 4 to 6 hours for up to 96 hours of use, with runtime varying by brightness, 12 to 17 hours on high, 22 to 30 on medium, 70 to 95 hours on the lowest setting. Two is wet rated and measures 3.5 inches across and 8.3 inches tall.

Where It Works Best

Being wet rated, this cobalt Two is as happy on a garden table as it is on an indoor dining table, and its colour makes it a natural fit for outdoor entertaining where a splash of colour is welcome after dark. The downward facing dome keeps the light itself out of view across the table, whatever the setting.

Founded in Amsterdam in 2018 by Jorren Teertstra with fellow Dutch industrial design engineers Gert, Tom, Lenny and Douwe, Humble began with a clear aim, a wireless alternative to candlelight. Will the cobalt finish fade outdoors over time? The finish is applied to the same aluminium body as every Two, built with outdoor use in mind, though like any painted metal, years of direct sun exposure will eventually soften any colour.

Does colour affect the brightness of the light itself? No, the finish is purely on the body, the G4 LED source and its three modes are identical across every colourway.

Is this a good match for a mixed colour table setting? Cobalt works well as a deliberate accent piece alongside neutral tableware, rather than blending into a similarly bold table scheme.
