Choosing Black and Brown Linen

Black grounds the base against most tabletops, and the brown linen shade adds a soft, tactile texture that diffuses the light gently rather than letting it shine hard through the dome. For a smoother, glass shaded look in the same downward beam, the frosted or smoked glass versions are the alternative.

How It Works

A G4 LED source rated 0.45W at 5V and 2600K sits inside the dome, switching between candle, ambiance and work modes to suit anything from a flickering dinner glow to a genuinely usable reading light. The rechargeable battery takes 4 to 6 hours to charge fully for up to 96 hours of use, with runtime varying by brightness, 12 to 17 hours on the highest setting, 22 to 30 hours on medium, and 70 to 95 hours on the lowest. Two is wet rated, so it can move outdoors as easily as it sits on an indoor table, and measures 3.5 inches across and 8.3 inches tall.

Humble was founded in Amsterdam in 2018 by Jorren Teertstra and fellow Dutch industrial design engineers Gert, Tom, Lenny and Douwe, with the goal of a wireless alternative to candlelight. Does the linen shade need special care? A dry or lightly damp cloth is enough to keep it clean, since it sits above the light source rather than getting wet itself in normal use.
