Keeping the base and shade in matching tones gives this Two a soft, cohesive look that disappears easily into a neutral room, while the linen shade adds texture and diffuses the light more gently than a plain aluminium dome. For a smoother, glossier look in a similar palette, the plain beige version is the alternative.

How It Works

A G4 LED source rated 0.45W at 5V and 2600K sits inside the dome, with candle, ambiance and work modes moving from a flickering dinner glow to genuine task light. Charging takes 4 to 6 hours for up to 96 hours of use, varying by brightness, 12 to 17 hours on high, 22 to 30 on medium, 70 to 95 hours on the lowest setting. Two is wet rated and measures 3.5 inches across and 8.3 inches tall.

Where It Works Best

The linen shade's softer diffusion suits a relaxed dining table or a bedroom corner where a slightly textured, less clinical glow is wanted, while the downward beam keeps the light off anyone's face across the table. Being wet rated, it also moves outdoors onto a covered terrace without issue.

Humble was founded in Amsterdam in 2018 by Jorren Teertstra alongside fellow Dutch industrial design engineers Gert, Tom, Lenny and Douwe, built on the idea of a wireless alternative to candlelight. Two brings that same flicker free warmth to a shade designed specifically to light a table rather than a room.

Does the linen shade fade in sunlight? Like most fabric shades, prolonged direct sun exposure over time can affect any textile, an indoor spot or covered outdoor table is best for longevity.
