Woven linen adds texture that the plain wood or metallic finishes do not have, softening the light and giving One a more relaxed, natural character. For a smoother, more graphic look in the same shape, black or one of the wood finishes are the alternative.

How It Works

One charges on a Qi wireless dock or via the included USB-C cable, 4 to 6 hours for up to 140 hours of light on its lowest of three brightness levels. Its exposed E27 bulb is fully replaceable, and the lamp's modular, battery powered build means every part is designed to be maintained rather than thrown away. It carries an IP65 rating and comes with the lamp, its LED bulb, a USB-C cable and a storage bag.

Being IP65 rated, the Linen One suits bathroom zones 1 and 2 as well as a garden table or a relaxed reading corner indoors (see our bathroom lighting zones guide for what each zone allows). Its woven texture particularly suits an organic, natural styled interior where fabric and wood already feature.

Made By Humble

Humble was founded in Amsterdam in 2018 by Jorren Teertstra and fellow Dutch industrial design engineers Gert, Tom, Lenny and Douwe, with the aim of a wireless alternative to candlelight. One was their first product, and this linen finish brings a softer, more tactile character to that original cordless design.

Is the linen finish washable if it gets marked? A damp cloth is best for spot cleaning, rather than fully wetting or washing the woven texture.

Does IP65 apply to the linen texture itself or just the electronics? The rating covers the whole lamp as built, including how the linen finish is sealed against the base.

Is linen a good choice for a bathroom shelf? Its IP65 rating covers bathroom zones 1 and 2, though anyone wanting the lowest maintenance finish in a very wet area might prefer the wood or metal options instead.
