Matte black gives Bug's curved silhouette real definition against a pale wall or tabletop, reading as more architectural than the softer beige or the more formal gold. It suits a setting where the lamp itself is meant to make a statement rather than blend in.

How It Works

Bug's rechargeable battery charges on a Qi wireless dock or via the included USB-C cable, 4 to 6 hours for up to 90 hours of light. Candle, ambiance and work modes cover everything from a flickering low glow to genuine task lighting. Built from aluminium and polycarbonate with silicone seals, it carries an IP65 rating and measures Ø3.9 x H11.3 inches. Zigbee 3.0 connectivity allows it to join a Philips Hue, IKEA Tradfri or Tuya smart lighting setup via a compatible bridge, on top of its own onboard controls.

Humble was founded in Amsterdam in 2018 by Jorren Teertstra and fellow Dutch industrial design engineers Gert, Tom, Lenny and Douwe, with the ambition of a wireless alternative to candlelight. Bug extends that ambition well beyond their first lamp, the Humble One, into a larger, connected design built for commercial and home settings alike.
