A Deeper Glow, With Nothing to Wire In

The smoked bulb on this gold Bee wall light gives a deeper, more atmospheric glow than its frosted counterpart, suited to a bathroom that leans more spa than bright and functional. Like every Bee, it clips onto a small wall plate with no cabling in sight, so there is no electrician needed to fit it.

Choosing Gold and Smoked

Gold brings warmth to the fitting itself, and the smoked bulb tints its light amber and holds it close rather than spreading it across the wall, good for a considered, low key glow rather than general illumination. The same gold body is also available with a frosted bulb if a brighter, wider spread is wanted instead.

How It Works

An 8240mAh, 3.7V battery powers the fitting, removed for charging and clipped back onto its wall plate once full, so there is never a cable at the wall itself. The E27 low voltage LED bulb runs at 0.5W and 2300K with a CRI of 93, and three dimming levels are available, 170 to 220 hours per charge on low, 60 to 80 on medium, 30 to 40 on high. Bee measures Ø120 x H180mm, weighs 0.51kg, and is IP65 rated.

Where It Works Best

IP65 covers bathroom zones 1 and 2, so this Bee can sit beside a bath, shower or sink without the rewiring a mains fitting would need (our bathroom lighting zones guide covers what each zone permits). The smoked bulb's warmer, dimmer tone also suits a bedroom or a snug where a softer evening light is wanted.

Made By Humble

Founded in Amsterdam in 2018 by Jorren Teertstra and fellow Dutch industrial design engineers Gert, Tom, Lenny and Douwe, Humble set out to replace candlelight with something just as flexible but genuinely safe. The Humble One was their first product, and the cordless, clip on principle behind Bee traces straight back to it.

Is smoked too dim for a hallway? It is warmer and more contained rather than dimmer, better suited to atmosphere than to lighting a whole hallway on its own.
