The Opal Disk ceiling light gathers four hand blown opal glass globes on a powder coated steel frame, each shade angled slightly differently so light spills outward in soft, overlapping pools rather than one flat beam. Finished in a rich charcoal grey, it has a quiet, sculptural presence that reads as more mid century than minimalist. Picture it lowered over a bathroom vanity where its diffused glow is kind to skin tones in the morning, or hung above a kitchen island where the staggered disks catch the eye without shouting for attention.
The charcoal grey finish
This variant is powder coated steel in a deep, warm charcoal grey rather than a flat black, so it has enough depth to pick up ambient light without ever looking glossy. It sits comfortably against brushed brass and matt black hardware, and pairs just as easily with pale walls, where it reads as a grounding, architectural accent, as it does with darker or moodier schemes where it recedes into the background. The opal glass globes stay a soft, milky white regardless of finish, giving a consistent warmth of light whatever the room's palette.
How it works
Four G9 bulbs sit behind the opal glass globes (bulbs are not included, so choose your preferred warmth and, if you want the light dimmable, a dimmable G9 to match). The fixture is hardwired to the mains and wired by a qualified electrician as part of installation. Its stem offers three drop height settings, adjusting between a shorter drop for lower ceilings and a longer one for taller rooms or a more dramatic hang, so the same fixture works whether you are lighting a compact ensuite or a generous open plan kitchen. It carries an IP44 rating, meaning it is built to handle the humidity and occasional splashes of a bathroom as well as ordinary indoor use.
Where it works best
Because of its IP44 rating, this is one of the few ceiling lights equally at home above a bath or shower zone as it is over a dining table or kitchen island. It suits bathrooms that want a genuine design moment rather than a standard flush fixture, kitchens where multiple staggered points of light help with everyday tasks, and hallways or landings where its sculptural silhouette makes a strong first impression. It also works well doubled up in pairs along a run of ceiling for a more considered lighting scheme.
