The Truman Single Wall Light takes a classic wall bracket shape and gives it a twist. Its boldly sloped arm curves out from the wall plate before holding the shade at an angle, rather than sitting straight up, and that small detail sets it apart from more conventional single wall lights while still feeling at home in a traditional interior.

Antique Nickel with etched opal glass

This fitting is finished in Antique Nickel, a soft, warm toned metal finish that reads well against both light and dark walls. The cast mild steel frame is paired with an etched opal glass shade, which diffuses the light for a gentle glow rather than a hard, direct beam, and the etching also picks out the cast finial detail at the top of the fitting.

How it works

This is a single light wall fitting that takes one E27 LED bulb, not included, so you will need to add one to your order. It is wired to the mains and fixed to the wall via a wall plate, rather than plugged in. It is rated Class I, which means it needs to be earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. Fit it with a dimmable LED bulb and it can be dimmed; with a standard bulb, it will only run at full brightness.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started out in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. Wall lights like the Truman show how far the range has grown since then, into pieces designed for hallways, living rooms and bedrooms rather than porches and gardens. The business has stayed in the Wiedemer family since Stanley Wiedemer took full ownership in 1937, and it is now led by the fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for UK and European homes, converting fittings such as this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Does this light come with a bulb? No, the Truman Single Wall Light does not include a bulb. It takes one E27 LED bulb, which you will need to add to your order separately.
