Trellis takes the look of a traditional hanging lantern and sets it on top of a post instead of a wall. This pedestal light carries three lights inside dense, seeded glass panels, with generous scroll arm detail and cast rivet work that give it the feel of a well worn garden lantern rather than a modern copy, built to stand at the top of a gate post or driveway pillar.

Regency Bronze finish

Regency Bronze gives the mild steel frame a warm, aged tone, paired here with a cast loop finial and rivet detailing that nod to genuine old ironwork rather than a plain reproduction. The seeded glass has a dense, slightly textured look that softens the light and suits the traditional character of the design.

How it works

This pedestal light takes three E14 bulbs, which are not included, so you will need to add your own. It is dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. The fitting is Class I, so it needs an earthed connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It is designed to stand at the top of a post rather than mount to a wall or ceiling.

Trellis is IP44 rated, so this outdoor pedestal light is built to cope with rain and cold. It works well marking the entrance to a driveway, framing a front path, or standing either side of a gate, where its height and traditional lantern shape help an entrance feel finished.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley started out making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just 14 designs. That early focus on porch and garden lighting is the same tradition Trellis sits in almost a century on, right down to its scroll arms and cast detailing. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's outdoor designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification. It is part of why a design rooted in 1920s Ohio can still be wired safely into a British driveway today.
