The Hinkley Sussex Single Wall Light is a compact, single bulb wall light finished in Brushed Nickel. It suits the spots where a small wash of light works better than a big central fitting, a hallway wall, a bedside spot, or either side of a mirror.

Brushed Nickel finish

This wall light is made from steel with a clear glass column and a linen shade in a soft neutral tone. The Brushed Nickel finish has a warm, low sheen that sits comfortably with both older and newer furniture. The same Sussex design also comes in a Chrome finish, if you would rather match a cooler, brighter scheme elsewhere in the house.

How it works

This is a single light wall fitting that takes one E14 LED bulb, which isn't included so you'll need to add one when you order. It's dimmable as long as you fit dimmable bulbs. The fitting is Class I, which means it needs to be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley's story starts in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley began making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with just fourteen products in his first catalogue. When he became ill in the 1930s he sold half the company to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, and after Phil died in 1937, Stanley bought the rest and moved his own family to Cleveland to run it. His grandson Rick Wiedemer joined the business in 1969, and around 2000 the fourth generation, siblings Kristi, Jess and Eric, began taking on leadership roles. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's American designs, including this Sussex range, for UK homes, converting fittings like this wall light to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Is this wall light dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable LED bulbs. A bulb that isn't dimmable won't dim, even on a dimmer switch.

Does it come with a bulb? No. This fitting takes one E14 LED bulb, which isn't included, so you'll need to add one to your order before it can be used.
