The Spyre Pendant hangs as a single cluster, but the 6 Light Chandelier spreads those same sculptural arms into a wider, symmetrical spread, making it the largest and most dramatic design in the range. It hangs on an adjustable chain, with a drop that adjusts from 85.2cm up to a maximum of 385cm or 304.8cm depending on the chain length used, and measures 71.1cm across at its widest point. Because every arm is hand hammered individually, colour and texture vary slightly from piece to piece, and photos on screen never quite capture the real finish.

Hand hammered Champagne Gold

Each arm is made from steel and finished in hand hammered Champagne Gold, a warm, lustrous tone with a subtle hammered texture that catches the light differently from every angle. It sits comfortably alongside brass, warm wood tones and other gold accents, and works equally well as the sole statement piece in a room or alongside softer secondary lighting.

How it works

This chandelier is hardwired to the ceiling and takes 6 x E14 LED bulbs, which are not supplied, so you will need to order these separately. It is dimmable if dimmable bulbs are used. It is rated Class I, which means it requires an earthed electrical connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where it works best

Its scale and spread suit dining rooms, hallways and double height spaces where the arms can be seen in full, and it makes a striking centrepiece above a large kitchen island. It also works well in generously proportioned living rooms and bedrooms, anywhere there is enough ceiling height and floor space to let it hang properly.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started small. When Phil R. Hinkley founded the company in Cleveland, Ohio in 1922, its first catalogue listed just 14 products, all outdoor lanterns. A century on, the Spyre 6 Light Chandelier sits at the opposite end of that story, a large, sculptural centrepiece built for double height halls and dining rooms rather than a porch. The company passed through the Wiedemer family from 1937, when Stanley Wiedemer bought the business outright, through three more generations, and in 2019 it simplified its name from Hinkley Lighting to simply Hinkley as it expanded into ceiling fans. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted designs like this one for the UK and Europe, converting the wiring to 220 to 240V and certifying it to CE standards.

Questions People Ask

Is this chandelier dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable E14 LED bulbs. With non dimmable bulbs, it will only work on full brightness.

Do bulbs come with it? No. It takes 6 x E14 LED bulbs, which you will need to buy separately, so pick your preferred colour temperature and brightness before it arrives.

How big is this chandelier and will it fit my space? It has a 71.1cm diameter and a drop that adjusts from 85.2cm up to 385cm or 304.8cm depending on the chain length you use, so it needs a room with enough ceiling height and floor space around it. At 12.6kg, it also needs a ceiling fixing strong enough to support the weight.

Can I install this myself? We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It is a hardwired, Class I chandelier that needs an earthed connection, and its weight means it should be fixed securely to the ceiling structure.
