Scout takes a single 8W GU10 bulb, which isn't included, so you'll need to add one when you order. It's dimmable if you fit a dimmable GU10 bulb and wire it to a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting is wall mounted and may need some simple assembly on arrival. This is a Class I fitting, which means it must be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley Lighting began in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker, when Phil R. Hinkley launched the business in Cleveland, Ohio with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. Scout, with its pared back square profile, sits a long way stylistically from those early lanterns, but it belongs to the same outdoor lighting line the company has never left. Stanley Wiedemer bought into the business in the 1930s and took it over outright after Phil's death in 1937, and his grandson Rick Wiedemer went on to lead it for fifty years from 1969. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured Hinkley's outdoor designs for the UK and Europe, adapting fittings like Scout to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
